Daffodil day

   Today I still remember 2 teachers from GI School who died of cancer and was Siaosi Tongilava and Whae Emily. Whae Emily would be my teacher in room 3 if my teacher comes late or was sick she would take over. One thing I loved about her was that she would let the class colour maori pictures and she would teach the class how to say maori words. Siaosi Tongilava I didn't know him because he had died a long time ago and died at a young age, but the teachers would still remember him.

Math games

I was playing a game of matching improper fractions with mixed numbers and pictures.  I had match 2/4 as the fraction and a picture that showed was 2/4. This game was confusing for me  because I would think that ¾ would match with 2/4, but it would be wrong. Next I would want to learn more fraction so that I will become more better and when someone says a fraction I could just say it without thinking.

Compost Bokashi

Today after lunch break all the classes from the senior side had to sit down on the ground because the teacher from room eight had something to tell the senior side something that makes composting more better for the environment. There is this thing that you can buy from bunnings warehouse and it’s called Bokashi and it keeps the smell from the environment when you leave all your rubbish that is not supposed to go into the compost bin and leave it for two weeks . It will have no smell and it will be good to put under the ground for composting.
 

Volleyball

Today my class had volleyball and we had to get a friend so that we can pass the ball to each other. I learned to use the volley.

Benefits of Composting

Compost reduces green houses gases

Malo e lelei, Kia orana, Talofa lava and greetings everyone today
I am going to persuade you to do composting and what happens
to our rubbish when we throw it away.

My first reason is: Composting at home

When people compost at home sometimes they can put in things
that don’t belong in there. The reason is because they don’t care
or they don’t know what goes in the compost bin. I know that my
\ papa doesn’t like when we put the wrong thing into the compost
bin because he loves worms and he always make sure that everyday
they are feed and had water. SO try composting at home, but ask an
adult what goes into the compost bin and care for your worm.

My second reason is: Where our rubbish goes

When people throw their rubbish into the bin sometimes don’t put
the right thing in the right bin, and where our rubbish goes is in the
landfill which sometimes goes to Toval which is a island and now
people from that island have to move out of their homes and find
another place to live because of all the rubbish. Instead of throwing
rubbish away you can recycle like plastic bottles, cardboard box, paper,
tin cans, clothes, and other more things.

My third reason is: Compost helps control erosion

Well compost has been shown to prevent erosion on the embankments
that are parallel to rivers, lakes and creeks. As well as lessen walk paths,  
roads, playgrounds, hillsides and also golf course. Think of the football season
without nice and good turf to play on.

My last reason is: Composting helps clean up contaminated soil

Composting helps take away soil by absorbing odors to keep it nice and fresh
for the earth. If you have been composting for the environment good on you,
but if you haven’t what a shame because people that compost give their child
a better future.

Hansel and Gretel ninja chicks

Walht: summarize and take notes.

This week we revisited writing a summary and taking notes. My teacher read
this story to us and we had to write a summary using the ‘W’ words.

Here is my summary:

One day there were two siblings named that lived with they papa and mama,
there parents went somewhere to do something while they were gone they
were learn dojo. After Awhile they found out that they had been taken and
followed the clues leading to the forest. Hansel had found a house and
went in he found papa and mama, but then the fox was chasing her,
but Hansel couldn’t eacsp she was locked up too. Gretel listen
careful and got into the house quickly and started to unlock the
cages and pushed the fox into the cage. They mission was to look
after the town and make no one gets birdnapp.  

Reflection:
I understand the ‘ walht’ but find it difficult to write the summary in my own words.

Technique 3D Collage

On Tuesday my class went to Te Thui to do 3D collage art.
This is my art from when we had went, you should go and
do some of their art because you would want to go back again.

Pak n save

Here is what we had to write down onto our paper about different foods. Most people likely had finished fast  because they had listen and had focused on what they are doing. It is good to do something like this because it will help you know what amount of sugar that is in the food. Learn this and teach others so they can go to junk style to health lifestyle.      

Pak n save trip

 We went to Pak n save and had meet Adele from the heart foundation. We have learned about what should go into our bodys and how much sugar that is in food we eat. Thanking Adele because she has teached about our sugar eating and what we should ahve on our dinner plant.
