Why did the British & Maori want a treaty?

WALT: understand why the Treaty of waitangi was created.

We have been learning about Waitangi day like when the pekaha people came 
to New Zealand and started trading with the Maori.

When I had done the scavenger hunt task I had to find information on a site that me teacher had created and answer all of them. 

An interesting fact about what happened in New Zealand long time ago was the the pekaha people taught the Maori how to read and write.

Food art on a plate

My class topic for term 4 was festival food. I had no ideas from my festival because it all looked very hard and because it would take up my time. My class had used playdough, icing and raisins to make the food. I had made a ice cream in a cup with the sun and a hand trying to get the cup of ice cream. The colours I used were green, yellow, red and blue and I had only used playdoh. I think that this would be good for 5 and 6 year old kids to try and make whatever they want to create.

Maori Language Week

Today I was playing Maori games because it is
Maori Language Week. Playing Maori games and
trying to learn the words was hard for me, but
hopeful I can get them right and talk Maori to my
friends. I try hard to learn another language, but one t
hat I haven’t learnt before because there are many
languages I can learn and so when I want to travel I can
understand them and talk to them.

Compost Bokashi

Today after lunch break all the classes from the senior side had to sit down on the ground because the teacher from room eight had something to tell the senior side something that makes composting more better for the environment. There is this thing that you can buy from bunnings warehouse and it’s called Bokashi and it keeps the smell from the environment when you leave all your rubbish that is not supposed to go into the compost bin and leave it for two weeks . It will have no smell and it will be good to put under the ground for composting.
 

Pak n save

Here is what we had to write down onto our paper about different foods. Most people likely had finished fast  because they had listen and had focused on what they are doing. It is good to do something like this because it will help you know what amount of sugar that is in the food. Learn this and teach others so they can go to junk style to health lifestyle.      

Pak n save trip

 We went to Pak n save and had meet Adele from the heart foundation. We have learned about what should go into our bodys and how much sugar that is in food we eat. Thanking Adele because she has teached about our sugar eating and what we should ahve on our dinner plant.

3G and 4G

The 3G and the 4G is good for people to read for when they go to the Buddhist temple. The 3G is say good words, think good thoughts and do good deeds. The 4G is give hope, give joy, give confidence and give convenience.

The wishing bell

The wishing bell is not something when you can wish for money you have to wish for good things like wanting to be a good person or being a hard working person.

Bathing the budda

At the Buddhist temple one thing is to bath the buddha and say the 3G's one for the right arm, one for the left arm and one for the back. It's one fun thing when people go to visit.

Tattoos of the 3G

At the Buddhist temple kids got tattoos and on every tattoo has a different short sentence of the 3G that  means say good words, do good deeds and think good thoughts.

Lotus flowers and the bell.

   Today rooms 3,4,6,7,8,11 and 10 went to a Buddhist temple. Kids in different groups got to make the Lotus flower and it was beautiful after it was done. The Lotus flower lives in muddy ponds, but can still be cleaned.






The bell here is the bell that has a red notice that says 3G which means do good deeds, say good words and think good thoughts. 4G means four giving. Give confident, give joy, give hope and give convenient.

Walht: explain how to make a simple circuit.

What  you need to make  your circuit you will need two batteries, one switch and a light bulb.

You put your batteries in and get you switch then your light bulb, but you have to get this thing that helps with light bulb to light the bulb. It’s this blue thing that you can see in my picture.
